The Hamsa is a symbol believed to protect you from harm against the evil forces. We could all use a little protection right about now.

The Hamsa Hand or Hand of Fatima is an ancient Middle Eastern talisman found in all religion cultures. It is a protective symbol which people believe will protect them from harm against the evil eye and bring them goodness, abundance, fertility, luck and good health.

Facing down, the hamsa is though to let goodness, light and abundance into your life and home. Facing up, it is a powerful symbol of protection against the evil eye. Many early cultures adopted the eye as an icon for their protection, others used Hamsa and so over time the most popular universal symbol became an eye placed in the palm of a hand.

This stylized stained glass Hamsa sun catcher hangs facing down with an eye symbol in the center. Pastel rainbow colors of rose, peach, yellow, green, pale blue and violet stained glass swirl around a fabulous large clear glass nugget "eye". ROY-G-BIV at it's best.

This hamsa will hang beautifully in your window, allowing in only good fortune!

Created in the copper foil method of stained glass creation, this hamsa hand measures approximately 8" tall by 6.25" wide. The solder lines are treated with black patina and polished to a warm glow.

As with any item in my shop, if you like the style but would prefer a different color combination, let me know and we can create one together.

I have to admit, I'm more than mildly obsessed with ombre yarn... This stained glass ball of yarn sun catcher features different shades of black, white and gray stained glass combined with actual vintage metal knitting needles.

Stained glass from a knitter's hand!

The yarn ball is constructed in the copper foil method of stained glass construction. The solder lines are left in their natural silvery tone and polished to a shine. The vintage metal knitting needles are literally cut and soldered right into the piece.

My yarn ball stained glass was featured on Marly Bird's Blog post, Gifts for Knitters and Crocheters - Stocking Stuffers 2019! Click here to check it out!

The sun catcher measures about 4.5" x 11"... the yarn ball itself measures about 4.5" across. I would suggest hanging from a nail or hook rather than a suction cup as they tend to give way in the warm sunlight.

All items in my shop are designed and created in my home workshop located in Chalfont, PA. As with any item, if you like the style but would rather see it in other colors, let me know and we can create on just for you!

A triangle shaped shawl can be knitted from the bottom up... side to side or in this case, from the top down. Starting at the back of the neck with very few stitches, the triangle shape is achieved through rythmic increases. Cable and fringe are knitted-on as one piece once the body of your shawl or poncho is complete.

Your completed project will need between 500 and 1000+ yards of yarn depending upon the yarn weight and needle size. It's a fun way to experiment with textured yarns... or mixing leftover yarns from your stash! The poncho/shawl pictured was knit on US size #9 needles with a worsted weight cotton yarn but the pattern is adaptable to every weight of yarn from lace to bulky.

Included in the pattern are instructions for a provisional cast on, simple triangle shawl and knitting on a border sideways which binds off all of your live stitches... plus, learn to knit on fringe as you go!

The pdf is two pages long and contains both charted and written instructions for the cable border.

If you're like our family... we're "just in it for the t-shirt!" Whether it's a charity event, concert or sports team, the t-shirts accumulate fast!

This Market Tote pattern is a great way to put those shirts to good use, created out of Upcycled T-Shirt Yarn which is usually bulky weight. It is knit in the round on a US #17 needle.

The pattern includes a bonus tutorial to upcycle t-shirts into knitting yarn! As an alternative, bulky weight yarn will work well. Approx. 300 yards will be needed to complete the tote project.

Each XL mens t-shirt will create approximately 40 yards of a continuous strand of colorful, machine washable, cotton, heavy worsted to bulky weight yarn. Smaller size shirts will create less yardage. The tote pictured above used yarn created from 7 xl men's shirts.

If you're a visual learner, I've created a short series of videos for Skillshare.com that demonstrate how to cut up t-shirts and turn them into a continuous strand of yarn. Use the link below to join Skillshare and access my video tutorials to create yarn.

Each glove measures 7" - 8" in length from the lover edge to middle finger plus the I-cord loop. Each additional repeat of the diamond design adds an inch to the glove length. Photos demonstrate gloves with three diamond repeats before thumb, measuring 8" in length from cast on edge.

The PDF pattern includes detailed instructions, charts and written instructions for the lace pattern as well as stitch instructions.
