Learn more about Jill Tarabar and JiSTdesigns:
A self-taught artist and native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Jill Tarabar’s fascination with the art of stained glass creation begin in the early 1980’s. She continued honing her skills as she participated in regional juried art fairs and developed wholesale connections along the east coast.
Jill taught a beginner adult ed class in the 1990’s through the Central Bucks Community School. A twenty-year long “break” allowed her to develop graphic design and marketing skills while working full time in marketing for first, a regional Bucks County destination and then a local nonprofit.
For the past two years, she has been able to focus on stained glass almost exclusively, participating in regional fine arts and craft festivals. She currently teaches day and evening stained glass classes through the Art Center at Ambler.
Jill often pushes the boundaries & ignores the “rules.” Mixing a variety of clear textured glass with bevels and found objects, she’s inspired by nature, spirituality and Judaica. Much of her work consists of functional gift items such as jewelry boxes, picture frames, Menorahs & Mezuzot.
Also an avid knitter, she discovered the art of knitting with wire and is exploring the medium as a way to combine knitting with stained glass.
A juried member of the Bucks County Guild of Craftsmen and award winning artist, Jill is proud to present a one woman display of Chanukah Menorahs at Visit Bucks County this past holiday season (2019).
